DESIGNING THE LAYOUT

The finished design consists of 12 spreads, including the front and back covers. The main story pages are in black and white, with shades of grey and black drawn from the characters' skin tones to add a warmer element to the scenes. There are a total of 4 characters, each with their own spread explaining a bit about who they are, along with some details of what they carry in their backpack and a playlist of their favorite songs. The comc book is meant to be read from left to right, similar to western comics.

To effectively tell the story, storyboarding is a process that helps to lay out ideas before finalizing thoughts. As the characters get ready for their first day of high school, each character's "section" is separated by an illustration of the character's bedroom. The character is briefly introduced, and the scene displays the mental health issue they're struggling with.
